Author Interview:

Where do you get your writing
inspiration from?
I am a zombie book junkie. I would read so many books
and think, “Wow, that was cool but...” until I finally just decided I should
just go for it.

Did you have to do any research for your books?
If so what?
Tons! For instance I had no idea what sort of guns my
characters should use. I have a friend who was in the military that had
suggested some so I had to research the heck out of them. Same with the solar
panels, no idea on how to set them up so I learned a lot. Wikipedia and Google
are old friends by now!

What are you working on now?
Right now, I'm working on book two of The Reanimates.
Cali's adventures are far from over!

What is the hardest part of writing for you?
The hardest part of writing had to be making the time
to do it. I have a full time job and am a full time mom so either there was a
lot going on when I had an idea or no ideas when I found the time. I started
carrying a note pad for the good idea moments to help get the I have time now
moments to connect.

What can readers expect next?
Readers can definitely expect that there will be more
realistic situations (well as realistic as you can imagine in a zombie
apocalypse) for the group to encounter, more tests that will be placed on their
bonds of friendship, oh, and definitely more zombies!

What question have you always wanted to be asked
in an interview and how would you answer that question?
Did you ever imagine as a kid that you would grow up
to be the person you are, and is it better or worse than you pictured. The
person I am now is so much better than I ever could have imagined, way beyond
my best hoped for scenario. I am blessed beyond my wildest dreams.

If you were writing a book about your life, what
would the title be?
Hmmmm. Maybe something to the effect of Zombies Were
the Easy Part. LOL

Who is your favorite author?
I can only pick one? Probably Charlaine Harris for
proving over and over that a strong female lead in a first person point of view
is not only able to be done, but can be done well, no matter what the current
trends are. You can make your own trends.
9.
What is your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is most undeniably my kindle and
all the books I have stashed away in it. You never see me in public without it.
10.
Highest point of your writing career?
The highest point for me was the day that I got my
very first sale. I'll never know who it was so I can't go thank them
personally, but I felt like I was on top of the world for that one and each one
after.
11.
Advice for aspiring authors?
Write! Keep a journal, write short stories that are
bouncing in your head that are unrelated even. Just keep writing because it
will click over in your head too.
12.
Last song that was stuck in your head?
Dare I admit that it was The Safety Dance by Men
Without Hats?
