Interview:
1. Where do you get your writing inspiration
from?
Inspiration comes from everything and
everywhere. I’ve been inspired by a
snowstorm before. True story. I was struggling for a way to give my vampires
cover one day and it was actually snowing (something that never happens in
Vegas.) That’s when it hit me. I needed a blizzard. That was used in book 4, Soulstone. But
really, inspiration comes from everything. Part of being an author is being a
person who studies their surroundings and then works them into written word.
2. Did
you have to do any research for your books? If so what?
Oh Yes. My Immortalis series is based in
Greek Mythology. I loved researching through Greek myths. There are so many
fascinating tales! I lost myself in them and (true story) bought a kids Greek
mythology book so I could share some of the stories with my oldest daughter
(she’s 8).
3. What
are you working on now?
At the moment I am working on some
co-authored works with my good friend Willsin Rowe. We have a fun BDSM three
part novella, part one will be out November 2nd, it’s called
Submission Therapy.
4. What
is the hardest part of writing for you?
Writing isn’t really that hard, I think
organizing my thoughts and staying focused tends to be the hard part. I’m a bit
ADD, so I’m naturally predisposed to being distracted. Everything distracts me. The TV, my family,
email, Facebook, etc… It’s hard for me to stay focused. I have to have a
certain kind of quiet to accomplish anything. That is why I tend to do most of
my writing at night, after the family is in bed.
5. What
can readers expect next?
For the Immortalis series, I am working on
Nicholas’s story. Readers have wanted him to find love again, and I aim to
please. No publishing date yet, but I’m working on it.
6. What
question have you always wanted to be asked in an interview and how would you
answer that question?
Interesting. I don’t really have a “thing”
I would want to talk about. I take my cues from you, bloggers and readers. I
want to make you guys happy so I am always listening to what you want from me.
7. If
you were writing a book about your life, what would the title be?
The Invisible Girl. I’ve always been a
wallflower. I’m an introvert, and a people watcher. I’ve been that way all my
life. I think it’s part of why I became an author. I study people and
interactions and then recall them as I write characters.
8. Who
is your favorite author?
My all-time favorite has always been Anne
Rice, but I do love Patricia Briggs, Charlaine Harris, Sherryln Kenyon, etc…
can you tell I’m a paranormal fan?
9. What
is your guilty pleasure?
Don’t laugh… Vampire Diaries. I friggen
love that show. It is my weekly pleasure. No one messes with Vampire Diaries
night.
10. Highest
point of your writing career?
Last Summer. I just released Pandora’s Box
and it was so well received. It is still one of my favorites in the series
(Moonlight being 2nd). I received emails from fans telling me how
much they loved it. I was on cloud nine! I hope to keep readers just as happy
and entertained.
11. Advice
for aspiring authors?
Keep on writing. Don’t expect one book to
carry you forever. You need to keep on offering new things to your readers to
keep them happy.
12. Last
song that was stuck in your head?
Train - 50 Ways To Say Goodbye. I love that
song. Makes me laugh every time I hear it.
The Immortalis
Series:
Becoming a vampire is easy. Living with the condition...
that's the hard part. Join Alyssa as she stumbles through the world of the
"Unnatural."
Book 1: Immortalis
Carpe Noctem - Newbie vampire Alyssa
never asked for this life, but now it's all she has. Rescued from death by
Lysander, the aloof and sexy leader of the Peregrinus vampire clan, she's
barely cut her teeth before she becomes a target. Kallisto, an ancient and
vindictive vampire queen – and Lysander's old mate - wants nothing less than
final death for her former lover and his new toy. She's not above letting the
Acta Sanctorum, and its greatest vampire hunter, Santino, know exactly where
the clan can be found. With no time to mourn her old life, Alyssa's survival
depends on her new family. She will have to stand alongside Lysander and fight
against two enemies who will stop at nothing to destroy them.
Book 2: Hunters &
Prey - Rule number one: humans and
vampires don't co-exist. One is the hunter and one is the prey. Simple, right?
Not for newly-turned vampire Alyssa. A surprise confrontation with Santino
Vitale, the Acta Sanctorum's most fearsome hunter, sends her fleeing back to
the world she once knew, and Fallon, the human friend she's missed more than
anything. Now she has some explaining to do. However, that will have to wait.
With the Acta Sanctorum hot on their heels, staying alive is more important
than educating a human on the finer points of bloodlust.
*Check back tomorrow for day two and a look at Book 3 in The Immortalis Series.
