Betrayal, passion, family secrets, murder, and vampires... What else would one expect during their freshman year of college?  Danielle Vaughn is secreted away after her birth and hidden until she leaves her small town in search of higher education.  She quickly finds herself maneuvering through a maze of enemies and lovers whoa re all out to capture her at any cost.  Danielle's life is turned upside down by the return of her father and the society of vampires that shattered her human mother's life.  She must find a way to survive in the new world she is thrust into by a power hungry rogue on the hunt for gifted vampire youths.  The hierarchy of the vampire nation is rocked by the existence of a demi-vampire who challenges their narrow-minded views of the human race.

About the Author, Cat Miller:
I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and now I live not far from my birth place in Perry Hall, Maryland.  I have two teenage daughters and a man that keep me busy when I'm not working full time as a Certified Medical Coder.  I'm an avid reader and I love all genre of romantic fiction from historical to contemporary to paranormal.  Sleeping has always been a problem for me so most nights I can be found in the living room reading or writing instead of in bed like the rest of the world.  I don't watch television.  It's not a conscious decision, it just never occurs to me to turn it on when I have books to read and writing to do.  It can actually be a hazard, because I never know what the weather will be until I look outside and I have to rely on my kids and coworkers for local and world news.  I love creating the characters you love and love to hate.  My characters remind me of people I know and people I wish I had never known.

What can readers expect in Unforgiven?
My readers can expect to the answer to the questions they were let with at the end of Unbound. Where is Dani? Who took her? And will she and Chase ever make it down the aisle? My readers can also expect to dig more deeply into the lives of a couple of the background characters from Unbound, as well as met a few new players.

Where do you get your writing inspiration from?
That is a tough question for me. I can’t really put my finger on anything that inspired any part of my writing. There is a time before I really sit down to write that I spend playing a game of “what if” in my mind. I keep a notebook with me and think about how the story will go if this happens or what would the character do if that happened? When I feel like I have the bullet points worked out I start really writing.

Did you have to do any research for your books? If so what?
I didn’t do any research because I knew from the beginning that I wanted my vampires to be a completely different take on the standard blood sucking mythical creature.

What are you working on now?
I am currently working on a prequel novella to The Forbidden Bond Series called Unafraid. This novella will explore the star-crossed love story of Griffin and Tessa. After many requests I decided to go back visit Dani’s (The lead character from Unbound) parents before they are separated by the pressures of an interspecies relationship.

What is the hardest part of writing for you?
I think the hardest part of writing is creating characters people can relate with on a more personal level. Character development is a big deal for me. Building a person from the ground up is hard work for me.

What can readers expect next in the series?
The next full length novel in the series is Unmerciful. It’s hard for me to expand on that project without giving away too much of Unforgiven, but I can tell you the high impact drama and heated sensuality will continued to ramp up as the series continues. I have some loose ends from Unbound that will not be tied up until we get into Unmerciful. I’m really looking forward to the project and hope for a winter release.

Which character do you have the strongest connection with?
I have a strong connection to Tessa. As the mother of two teenage daughters I relate to her and the sacrifices she makes to ensure her child’s safety and happiness.

What do you hope readers take away from this book?
I hope readers will look around and see that the differences between people, be it gender, race, social class, or sexual orientation and come to one conclusion. No matter how different we may be we are still the same. I hope that makes sense to you. It makes sense in my heart and mind.

If you were writing a book about your life, what would the title be?
Never Say Never

Who is your favorite author?
My favorite author is Lara Adrian.
