WHISPER CAPE is a town of secrets and

My
Review:
Whisper Cape is the first book I’ve read by Regan
Walsh. The description quickly drew me
in and I was very anxious to read this book.
I was worried that like some other books the description gives away too
much or the book turns out to be nothing like it. I was pleasantly surprised when the books
turns out extremely better than the description. This book was very hard to put down. Regan Walsh writes with great passion and
detail that you can’t help but get caught up in the story. She has a great way of developing not only
the main characters but others as well.
I hope the book leads to a series, but this book definitely is a great
stand alone book. I highly recommend the
book and give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Interview:
1.
Where do you get your writing inspiration
from?
There are so many different things that
inspire me. With Whisper
Cape, my inspiration came from music, vacation spots I’d visited, and plain
old imagination. I can’t listen to music while I write, but whenever I was in
my car or jogging or even cleaning, (a yucky task, I might add) my iPod crooned
with the voices of Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum singing songs from Phantom of the Opera. I’m a huge Gerry
Butler fan. In fact, my character, Gerry Briden, in Whisper Cape and Reflections
(the second book in the series) is very similar to Gerry Butler.

is a real place and helped inspire a few scenes in the book. I took the picture
while on a very romantic anniversary excursion. My mind was instantly swept
away.
2.
Did
you have to do any research for your books? If so what?
I actually did a ton of research for WC.
After I wrote the first draft, I wanted my descriptions of the Oregon coastline
to be realistic and although, I’d been to the coast before I wanted to get a
better feel for the landscape. I was lucky at the time we had a wedding to
attend in Arch Cape, Oregon, which is the town I used to model Whisper Cape. I’d
also visited Bora Bora where Cael whisks Addison off to.
Aside from the location research, I also
did studies on supernatural abilities, kinetic energy, telekinetic and
telekinesis. This is a topic that I continue to investigate and I am always
learning more about.
3.
What
are you working on now?
I just completed the first draft of Reflections,
the second book in the Whisper
Cape series. It’s mostly Gerry and Maia’s story, but there is still a
lot of Cael and Addison in there.
4.
What
is the hardest part of writing for you?
Getting the words right. I wish I could
say that I’m the type of writer who can get the right words down the first
time, but I’m not. As I write the first draft, it’s all about the story and
what’s happening, the second, is more about checking the flow and changing
around words and finding more exciting and interesting ways to say things.
5.
What
can readers expect next?
As I mentioned above, I’m hoping to meet
the deadline for a November release of Reflections.
I’m also working on a young adult novel, Allusive
Aftershock. As the title might suggest, there is a lot more going on here
than just an earthquake.
6.
What
question have you always wanted to be asked in an interview and how would you
answer that question?
This is a very hard question and to be
honest, I’m not sure how to answer it. It would be easier to tell you what
questions I wouldn’t want to be asked, LOL. But after thinking about this a
little more, I’d love to be asked if I’m enjoying the ride. At that, I would
say absolutely. I have met so many wonderful people over the past couple of
years since I wrote Whisper Cape. I am amazed at how many there are that are ready
to jump up and support me just because they liked my book and I am so very
grateful for all of them. Just to mention a few: Anna Dase, Read Between the
Lines, Anne Carter, author of the StarCrossed series, Michelle Green, my editor, Kristie Haigwood, author of Save My Soul, and
Rachael Wade, author of Amaranth and Preservations. These are my “go to ladies”
and they have been there for me every step since I’ve met them.

If
you were writing a book about your life, what would the title be?
Spontaneous (subject to change at any
moment).
8.
Who
is your favorite author?
I have to say J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts is
number one on my list. As I sit here looking over my bookshelf to pick out a
few, I find that I love them all. But a few still stand out. Steven King,
Michael Crichton was always able to hook me from the first page, Michael Grant,
Nicholas Sparks. Wow, those are all men. Here are some females: J.R. Ward, Christine Feehan, Carly Phillips,
Anne Carter, and E.L. James. There are so many and new ones pop up almost every
day. I have a huge TBR list now of new authors to read and I keep adding more.
Writing a novel is a tricky task. It takes a lot of self-discipline and I
admire every single author who has ever written a book.

Bio:
I daydream often. If I didn't write,
I think my mind would explode from an overload of fantasy and weirdness. To the
annoyance of my friends and family, my characters sometimes become a part of my
world. During my childhood, I would frequently get in trouble in school for
daydreaming. Eventually, my vivid imagination paid off and I had the privilege
of writing and co-directing my sixth-grade class play--a dreadful disaster;
though not from my writing, of course, I must blame it on the acting. The craft of writing, although dormant for
years, never really left me. Many years later, and with the help of technology,
I let my imagination run wild again. Born in a small town in Pennsylvania, I
enjoy writing about characters living in small quaint towns. I tend to lean
toward the unusual and spooky. I read all genres but I love reading paranormal
romance and like writing in that genre. My paranormal playing field delves into
a different milieu, abandoning vampires and werewolves, but not discounting
them. Someday I might like to write a novel about vamps and those furry
creatures. But for now I like the bizarre mixed with romance. A strong hero or
heroine confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers and capabilities
gets my blood running. I live in Northern California with my very romantic husband,
my small yippy dog, Riley, and my humungous black cat, Saké. My family consists
of his and her children; four wonderful sons and one beautiful daughter, six
grandchildren and another on the way. My greatest love in life is my family and
those large and ever growing holiday dinners. I enjoy traveling. I hate
running, but do it once in a while. Reading and writing are my favorite
pastimes.
