Feature Author..........Cody Reel

About Cody:
I'm just your typical smart, socially anxious, bipolar 20 year old. I have many passions, the main of which are sports, but I also love to teach math and learn mathematics. I'm a dark fiction writer: that means I include elements of sex, blood, gore and violence. My writing also includes elements of the supernatural, realism, satire and human psychology, including getting inside of the heads of people that commit various crimes, critiques of societies that I observe, how societies define crime, and how they handle crime. Death, destruction, and man's desire for power are some of my various themes.

 Author Interview
 1. Where do you get your writing inspiration?
My writing inspiration really comes when I start thinking about a subject and I have a point of view that I want to express about that given subject. Usually it comes when I hear someone talk about a subject or I think of a subject that would be interesting to write about, and then I just start writing.
2.  Did you have to do any research for your books? If so what? I never do any research for my books other than occasionally looking up how to spell a word.
3.  What are you working on now? Right now I'm working on a story called "Money", but most of my time is spent promoting myself.
4. What is the hardest part of writing for you? The hardest part of writing for me is the marketing. I haven't figured out places to market myself, but the actual act of writing is very easy for me.
5.  What can readers expect next? Readers can expect to see a lot of very interesting themes and a lot of crazy endings.
6.  What question have you always wanted to be asked in an interview and how would you answer that question? I've never really thought about being asked a question in an interview lol
7.  If you were writing a book about your life, what would the title be? I would probably title it something generic, like "Cody Alan Reel's life", unless something really crazy happens to me and I focused more on that aspect of my life
8.  Who is your favorite author? I don't really read a lot, but from what I've read of Stephen King, it's pretty good. I really do enjoy the Harry Potter books, so for now I'll say J.K. Rowling, but that's subject to change, depending on what else I read.
9. What is your guilty pleasure? A guilty pleasure...............................................I guess I would say writing about serial killers. I really enjoy it so much lol
10.  Highest point of your writing career? The highest point of my writing career so far I would say would be finishing my first story. It was 84 pages, which is a lot of writing for me, and I was really proud of that story.
11. Advice for aspiring authors? Advice for aspiring authors.....................................just write whatever you want to. And don't worry about anything else.
12. Last song that was stuck in your head? The last song that was stuck in my head...................................I think it was Sex and Candy by Macy's Playground lol

COMPULSION
Blurb:
A family secret kept hidden has been exposed, and the consequences could be deadly.  After Lilyann Moon's beloved grandmother dies shrouded by a veil of mystery, she and her young family members are yanked from their completely normal lives and catapulted directly into the supernatural world of witchcraft. A world they know absolutely nothing about.  The town of Hampstead, Maryland has no idea of the monsters that lurk in their midst. Or, of the dangers they will face if the Moon Coven doesn't figure out how to embrace the magick within each of them, especially Lily. She's suddenly up to her little pointy black hat in magickal problems. Destiny presented her with one more, and it's a big one - vampires. The only bright spot in this nightmare was meeting Mason. But, is she in love with the enemy? Lilyann is in a race against time to save her town and coven. Will she survive the coming dangers, with her heart and neck intact? It all comes down to this one night... All Hallows Eve.

Review:
Compulsion is the first novel by writer Kymberlee Burks-Miller.  This book is filled with witch craft, vampires, romance and family unity.  The novel follows Lilyann Moon. Through a tragedy she is forced into a destiny she is completely uncertain of.  Through her family, friends, and a surprise love she finds her way and saves more than herself.  I love the way the book was written and fell in love with the characters. I had a hard time putting this book down.  It was a great read. I felt a personal connection with the novel because of my own closeness to my cousins.  I also love that the end was left open for another novel and the possibility of a series.  I can’t wait to read more about Lilyann, Mason and the entire Moon Coven.  I also can’t wait to read more from the amazing Kymberlee Burks-Miller.  I would defiantly recommend the book and give it 5 of 5 stars.

 HAUNTED MOON
Blurb:
Before Lilyann stepped into her destiny to lead the coven, there was another powerful Moon witch...her grandmother.  A teenage witch-to-be in Galway, Ireland, Leeny Moon was prepared to take her rightful place in the circle along side of her family. That was until she witnessed firsthand the forthcoming nightmares she would be expected to face, vampires. The fight between good versus evil begins here...
Blessed Be~
An exclusive ebook novella of K.B. Miller's Moon Coven Series.  The Moon Coven Series fans asked for more of Granny Moon and I responded. This novella samples a small snippet from her youth. Enjoy~

Review:
This is the second book I’ve ready by KymberleeBurks-Miller and I was very anxious to get to read it.  I feel completely in love with her first book in the Moon Cover Series,  Compulsion.  This book is the first novella and is a touch on the back story of Grandma Leeny Moon.  It was great learning more about when Leeny first became a witch.  The story defiantly shows how not even the strongest or most confident were always strong or completely confident.  This was a great first novella and a great pacifier until the next book in the series.  I am anxiously waiting.  I love the way Kymberlee writes with such passion and detail.  She even mentions the little details that make things more real.  I give the book a 5 out of 5 and highly recommend it.

 Author Biography
Okay, so I'm supposed to tell you about me...
Seriously, if I wrote a book about myself it would take you 10 minutes to read and you would be bored stiff after the first 2! LOL
I'm a full-time writer, wife, and mother. Which basically means there's always a surplus of pencils lost somewhere in my hair, I usually have some place to be(I'm always late), I have a bad habit of calling family and friends random character's names (from my books), I talk to myself because no one else listens to me, and I can throw together a mean dinner for 8 with only 10 minutes notice and four ingredients in the pantry, LOL.  If you can't find me on the sidelines of my sons' football games, online, cooking, cleaning, shopping, at the local coffee joint or on the phone wandering aimlessly throughout my house then I've probably hidden myself in my "bat-cave" to write.  I have a positive attitude, and absolute fun-loving approach to life. That makes it easy for the voices in my head to take over on a regular basis providing endless hours of entertainment for my pleasure, and hopefully yours.
Random facts about me:
~My favorite color is pink
~I have a Bishon Frise puppy named Cullen Edward
~My favorite music is hip-hop
~I have a severe addiction to coffee. So much so, that those in my inner circle refuse to speak to me before caffeine O'clock! True Story
Enjoy the ride.
~K.B. xoxo

Bees By Cody Alan Reel {Read Oct. 20}

Bees by Cody Alan Reel

This is the first short story I’ve read by Cody Alan Reel.  I honestly have to say I was surprised.  Once I started reading I couldn’t stop and was shocked that it was the end so quick.  It had a few funny parts and definitely has a creepy feel to it.  I could see it being a longer story with maybe more details and aspects to it, but is a great short story, with an unexpected hero.  I would recommend it for readers looking for a little something different with a creepy aspect and I give it 4.5 stars.
